WREN is hosting the NH Department of Agriculture for a Farm Scale Certification Clinic on Thursday, April 26, 2018, 11am - 2pm.

The clinic is open to anyone who grows and sells their own agricultural products and who uses a scale commercially at farmers markets or a farm stand. Inspection and certification is FREE to growers who have 3 or fewer scales under 100 lb. capacity and no other commercial devices. Please note: no jewelers scales can be tested at these clinics.

Attendees should bring:

1. legal-for-trade scale(s) and any necessary accessories;

2. current scale license (if you have one); and

3. renewal forms and payments due (no credit cards accepted).

Inspectors will also be on hand to discuss label and packaging requirements for farmers markets. If you would like feedback on your labels and packaging, please bring a sample to this event.

Through the generosity of the Harvard Pilgrim Healthy Food Fund, we have a limited number of free legal-for-trade scales available for Gorham Market vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Please email for more information.

This clinic will be held in the basement of the Local Works Store. Park in the lot behind the store and enter through the blue door. Please note that this event is downstairs. If you require accessibility accommodations, please let us know in advance, and we will be happy to accommodate you on the ground floor.
